Hi my name is (your name here), and I am writing to urge you to
reconsider your Baseball Hall of Fame ballot for 2007.  Don Mattingly has
been conspicuously left off many baseball writers’ ballots in 2006.  He
belongs.  I respectfully remind you of the criterion for entry into the hall of
fame:

“Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing
ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions
to the team(s) on which the player played.”

Inductdonnie.com is a grass-roots effort to urge baseball writers to cast
their vote for Donnie in 2007.  Don Mattingly’s statistics are comparable to
other hall of famers.  A full comparison can be viewed at inductdonnie.
com.  You can argue statistics, but you can’t dispute Donnie Baseball’s
integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to Yankee baseball.

Yankee fans everywhere believe he should be in the hall.  You have the
chance to help put him there.  You don’t have to be a yankee fan to be a
fan of fairness.  Please consider using your unique position as a
journalist to advance our cause.  A mention in your column would be a
great help.  Again, please induct Donnie in 2007.

                                     Sincerely,

                                             (your name)
